More router table photos

Here are a few more photos of the router table.
I found a second xacta lift at a pawn shop the other day. It needs a few parts before I can use it though.
I hope to be able to get them in a month or two.
I also have a Freud SH-5 Professional Micro-Adjustable fence on it. That is an upgrade from the fence that came on the unit originally.

New Yankee Workshop

I just learned that The New Yankee Workshop is no longer going to be produced, and that Norm Abrams is retiring. I feel sad about this, myself and thousands of others around the country have for the past 21 years looked eagerly to the next project and been so excited about the chance to get out in the shop and try out the new ideas. I was fortunate to have a photo taken of the two of us several years ago. I'll have to dig it out and build a special frame for it now.
Here's to you Norm.

Good Luck.

Finally finished the Beds

I can't believe it, they are finally finished. I've been working on these for so long, I can't really remember when it was that I started them. I hope now to get started on a couple of night stands for them, and then start either a bed for our son, or a bed for my wife and I.

Turning feet for the second bed

Here are some photos of the feet for the second bed. I am getting a bit better at matching as I go along. I'm still a long way from being a good turner.
Also a look at the amount of chips and shavings on the floor of my very messy shop.

Bed Post finials

This is a short video I put together of one of the bed post finials being turned on my lathe, I am a novice turner but the point of doing it is to have fun and learn.
Things on the beds are coming along and I hope to have them done soon.
I should point out that if you work on a lathe always remember to take all jewelry off, I neglected to take my ring off, this could be very dangerous.

Kinda Slow

This photo is of my fix to a screw-up, it also shows the detail of the legs.
This photo is of for of the footboard legs in glue-up they were jointed and plained down to 4"x4"
I've been kinda busy at work and haven't had much time to do any work on anything. I hope to get going again as the weather starts getting warmer. I'm still working on the stands and I'm in the process of building beds for my kids. I have some photos of part of the legs I'm making. I screwed up on one of the head board legs and had to do a fix.

Candle stands

I'm currently working on a pair of candle stands for those large 8 inch candles. My wife found some at local home decorating store. I think I can make them cheaper than what the store is selling them for. We'll see. I will post a couple of photos of the first one as I get going on it.

Finished cabinet

Here is the finished bathroom cabinet. I've been out of town a lot and couldn't get much time to work on it. The finish didn't work out the way I had envisioned but I learned a few things along the way. I hope to do better next time.
