First time blogging

I've been interested in woodworking for most of my life. My granddad was, in my opinion, a very good wood turner. I would stand for hours watching him in his small garage shop making turnings. I have his lathe and apron that I still use with the saw dust in the pocket that he had when he was alive. It's my way of keeping him close. I am very sentimental when it comes to things like that.

I am still a novice at the art of woodworking. I don't have the money I would like to really devote to it. I also don't have the time it takes to really dive in and create what I would like to try. I believe in having good tools, so I've tried to save and get the best I can afford and still have some left over to buy materials for the projects.
One day I hope to be able to make the things that my wife would like.

At the moment I'm in the process of making beds for my kids, a music hutch, and a buffet for my wife. All of this in between the other little projects that I keep starting.

It's funny, I decided to open this blog and put some of my work on it. But now that it's open I can't find hardly any of the photos of the work I've done.

Here is a trophy I made for the Utah News Photographers Association Photographer of the year.
It is made out of Beech.
